Q: Can these sheds be painted? My HOA states the shed must match the home's color. Is it available with a wider door to fit a zero-turn mower?

1 Answer
  • A: Our sheds are made to maintenance free and no painting is required. If you do choose to paint your shed you will want to make sure you use a paint that will adhere to the plastic. A primer may be required. Check with your local paint store for appropriate products. Be aware that painting your shed may void your warranty. We do not have another door option for this size shed, but we do have sheds with larger doors. Check out our line of 11 foot sheds.

Q: Is the floor solid, or does it have cracks? I don't like the idea of snakes coming up through the floor.

1 Answer
  • A: The floor is made up of panels that are pieced together. They fit together tightly enough that I do not believe a snake could get through. If you are concerned, you can always seal the cracks with silicon.

Q: Do I need a floor built under it, or can it be set on the ground?

1 Answer
  • A: You must provide a platform on which to assemble your shed. Proper building permit documentation may be required in your neighborhood. Consult all local building codes prior to assembling the shed. Before beginning assembly, you must pour or construct a platform. There are two types: *Concrete *Wood Frame. Select the type, but know the surface must be level and flat before installation. If the surface is not properly leveled and flat, the shed will not assemble correctly. Proper surface leveling will save you time in the long run, so please don’t ignore this step. We recommend a Concrete platform. It will be the most durable and long-lasting choice. The platform you choose must be built above ground in order to avoid water pooling inside the shed. All lumber must be rated for outdoor use. Detailed instructions on how to construct a proper platform can be found in the product manual which can be downloaded at www.lifetime.com.

Seems decent but instructions and videos are a joke

Bought this and it seems sturdy and good so far. However the instructions and videos are horrid. You spend so much time trying to figure out what they mean from pictures. The videos show a similar shed but different part numbers. Took over a day to put up.

Not Happy

Leaks are all around the perimeter of the shed. The holes where the wall panels slide into place have gaps where rain water pours in. The holes around the doors are all wide open and rain pours in. Not sure why you designed the floor with so many holes especially along the door openings. I put flashing all around the outside, 2 lines of caulk around the perimeter outside. Also filled the numerous holes where the doors are with flex rubber but the rain keeps pouring in. The windows on the doors leak as well. Not sure why you did not provide tape to seal like there is on the skylights. When the doors are open and the floor is exposed to the sun, the floor warps like crazy and has now pulled apart along two floor panels. Most all the screws that attach the middle roof skylights have stripped so there is not much holding them into place. I really wish I had spent more money and put a wooden shed in. I have purchased many Lifetime products over the years and have always been impressed with the quality. This shed however has been a complete let down.
