Q: I have a 250 sq ft garage that is wired for 220 plug that I need to heat and cool.  Are there controls on the 12200 BTU unit that would allow it to work in a smaller room like this without humidity and other issues like short cycling?

  • A: Hello, Paul. Thank you for your question regarding the performance of your LG Window Air Conditioner in a 250 sq ft garage. We understand your inquiry about whether this 12200 BTU unit can operate effectively in a smaller space without causing short cycling or humidity issues. To ensure the best moisture removal and temperature stability please check that the air filter is cleaned every two weeks as restricted airflow can lead to premature compressor cycling and reduced dehumidification. While this unit is technically rated for spaces up to 550 sq ft it features Dual Inverter technology which allows the compressor to vary its speed rather than simply turning on and off. This capability helps the unit adjust its output to match the smaller cooling load of your 250 sq ft garage reducing the risk of short cycling and helping to maintain consistent humidity levels. You can further optimize performance by using the Dry Mode setting specifically for dehumidification or the Energy Saver mode to manage the fan operation. Q: Hello, I have had this unit for a couple of years. It has just started doing something strange. When I turn it on there is a low hum and the fan never does come on. I have tried changing the temperature and looking at the filter, which does not look dirty

  • A: Hey there Sandy! If your air conditioner is producing a low hum without the fan turning on, it could indicate an need to troubleshoot the fan motor or capacitor. First, unplug the unit and inspect for any obstructions in the fan area. If no visible issues are found and the filter is clean, the fan motor or capacitor may need to be replaced. Q: Is the cord on the left or right of the machine. (Cord length matters.)

  • A: Hello, larryB42. The power cord for the LG 12,200 BTU Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Window Air Conditioner, Cooling & Heating, Model # LW1223HRSM, and for any of our Window Air Conditioners exits the window air conditioners cabinet on the lower corner on the side that the control panel is on. For this unit, that would be the lower right corner if you are standing in front of the unit. You emphasized that "cord length matters" so it might help to know that the power cord is 52" long...^Ivan.

Q: Can this unit be installed in a 25" wide window without using the side curtains? From the installation instructions, it doesn't look like the 4 screws that attach the side curtain to the window and window sill provide much support. Thank you.

  • A: Hello, LFE3. The LG 12,200 BTU Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Window Air Conditioner, Cooling & Heating, Model # LW1223HRSM, has a width of 23 5/8” without the left and right curtain panels. It will fit in a standard single-hung or double-hung window with a clear vertical opening of 16” from the bottom of the upper sash to the inside sill without attaching the left and right curtain panels, but installing it in your window without the curtain panels is at your discretion just as long as you can close the gaps between the air conditioner's cabinet and your window frame...^Ivan.

Nice for the price!

It needed an LCDI plug adapter for the ac unit, and my electrician was able to get it The ac worked moderately well on regular summer days in CA but struggled to cool my 550 sq room sufficiently when the temperature was higher, like a heat wave time The multiple fan speeds and auto restart are nice, but it can get noisy for people who are light sleepers. The remote function with smartphones and timer control is a pretty cool feature, but it's not as energy efficient, though.

Very nice and efficient.

This A/C is very nice and blows out very cold air. It's not very loud and is very efficient. It keeps my living room nice and cold. Installation was easy, but it's heavy, so I would suggest two people with installation. The remote was an added bonus.

Great unit and love the options

The LG room air conditioner with heating & cooling was 12,200 BTU's keep in mind this is not made for a standard household plug. This unit pulls some power and really makes a difference. We were able to keep cool our entire living area space of almost 900 sqft. I love that you can clean the filter yourself and completely control the unit with a remote. It has different speeds and temperature settings. We did try the heat option and it didn't put out as much as the cool air did. I wouldn't say that it would heat our living area but it would certainly help. The unit was fairly quiet and controlled our room temperature easily. I can't comment on cost as I haven't received that on our bill yet. Overall its a great unit and thanks to LG & Influenster for allowing me to try and give my honest review

Will most definitely purchase one for second floor

This ac is an game changer! We have a two floor home with our first floor consisting of kitchen / dining, living room, playroom and a large bathroom, and it keeps our entire first floor cool!! Installation was surprisingly easy, but my husband is also a jack of all trades! Doesn’t actually use much energy to my surprise judging by the size I definitely thought our bill would’ve sky rocketed but it did not!! Not very noisy at all and the remote control is perfect for adjusting it from being on the kitchen instead of having to walk over to it and climb on a chair to change it haha as we installed it pretty high on our wall
