Q: Does this ac have a Celsius option from Fahrenheit?

  • A: Hello Vanda, thanks for reaching out about the LW8024R — we understand you want to know if this window AC can switch the temperature display from Fahrenheit to Celsius, and it’s great that you’re checking the settings before using it. This model does support both Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C). The manual confirms the thermostat range as 60°F–86°F (16°C–30°C), which means the unit can display temperatures in either scale. A quick step to help you adjust temperature accurately: • Use the ▲/▼ Temp buttons on the control panel or remote to cycle through the temperature range, which includes both °F and °C values. Here’s the direct LG manual link for your model: https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-LW8024R.AT1AUSH?tab=1 If you need further assistance, feel free to email lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com. ‑Rich

  • A: Hello, thank you for reaching out about your air conditioner. You’re asking if the LW8024R can switch the temperature display from Fahrenheit to Celsius, and we understand how important it is to set the unit to the scale that feels most natural for you. Based on the product manual: ⦁ The thermostat range is listed as 60°F–86°F (16°C–30°C) ⦁ This confirms the unit supports both °F and °C To change the display: ⦁ Press the Temperature ▲ or ▼ buttons until the display switches between °F and °C A helpful step is to press either temperature button once to wake the display before adjusting. Here’s the official LG manual for reference: https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-LW8024R.AT1AUSH?tab=1 If you need further assistance, feel free to email lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com. ‑Rich

Q: Will this fit into a window with 21" maximum width? I see the actual dimensions of the unit but not the minimum requirements for the window

Originally posted on lg.com

  • A: Hey there! We appreciate this question about whether this AC unit would fit into the measurements of this specific window. However, this particular AC unit will not fit into a window with a 21-inch maximum width because this unit requires a minimum window opening width of 22 inches. The unit itself is 19.56 inches wide, but the included side panels need an additional inch on each side to create the proper seal. Q: I want to replace my (dead) LG LW8016HR 7,500 BTU Window Air Conditioner with an LG LW8016ER unit (without the heater).  Are they both the same size, so I can just remove the old A/C from the case and slide in the new A/C in its place?

Originally posted on lg.com

  • A: Hey Richard! Great question. The dimensions (WxHxD) of your old LG LW8016HR A/C are 18.44" x 13.88" x 20.88", which is a slightly different build than the LG LW8024R's 19 4/7 x 12 1/3 x 16 3/7. Due to this, full removal of your old unit will still be required before installation. If you have any more questions, we're always available to chat and help on social media @LGUSSupport! *Joseph

Q: What does the code cf mean..

Originally posted on lg.com

1 Answer
  • A: When “CF” appears on the display of your LG 8,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW8024R, it typically stands for “Clean Filter.” This code is not an error or malfunction, but a helpful maintenance reminder generated after a set number of operational hours. The LED light turns on after 250 hours of operation (see 'Using the Clean Filter Function' on page 14 in your owner's manual)...^Ivan.

Q: Does this unit have a thermostat where it will automatically turn off when the room reaches the desired temperature ?

  • A: Hey John. The LG A/C has no feature that automatically turns off when the room reaches the desired temperature. It operates based on the desired temperature setting and switches between fan and cooling modes to maintain the set temperature. For more questions, private message us on social media @LGUSSupport. Q: We are looking for a quiet air conditioner that will fit in a window with a width of 21-3/4". The room is 140 square feet, although I think a unit that is rated for a 250 square foot room would best serve our needs. What do you recommend?

  • A: Hey there! For a similar model to your current one, we recommend LW8022IVSM. This awesome AC not only operates quietly at different levels (High/Mid/Low/Sleep) but also comes with energy-saving features that your current model doesn't have. Plus, it's capable of cooling an area of up to 350 square feet. If you have further questions, please reach out to us on social media @LGUSSupport. ~Ave

The LW8013ER measures approximately 19 9/16 inches in width, 19 3/8 inches in depth, and 12 3/8 inches in height, while the LW8024R model measures about 16.37 inches in depth, 19.56 inches in width, and 12.38 inches in height. CHEAP

The unit cools well. But manufacturing is cheap. I can see thru the vents. I can see the black pulley inside as its sitting idol or going around in circles. Also can see the white foam backing in there. Very disappointed in the appearance. I have another LG window air conditioner that is normal. I cant see any mechanisms inside. I will not purchase another LG.

Worst LG I have owned

There is no ecomode like on the other LG window units I've purchased. If you set the mode to energy saver the unit will keep changing the temp from 72 (lowest temp it will allow) to 78 own its own. So you have to keep the mode on cool at all times so even if the compressor isn't on the fan stays on at all times. This defeats the units purpose of keeping the room cool.

Small and mighty

This is definitely a small hint designed for a small room! And I mean SMALL. but it does a good job cooling off a room and is fairly quiet. I didn’t love the “panels” that fill the rest of the window…. They have space that allows outside air/ BUGS to get in…. So make sure you have some insulation and tape! Overall it helps cool the room which is exactly what we need in this summer heat!

The LG 5000 BTU 115V is a convenient and effective air conditioner unit that is very easy to install and lightweight. The noise level is quieter than the one we had . This unit is perfect for our small summer bedroom. Keep us cool.
