KBS 2K DTM Build Primer is a two component urethane primer surfacer that builds fast to fill and level body and panel repairs before the topcoat. Two coats fill sand scratches and minor imperfections, it sands easily wet or dry after 1 to 2 hours, and it holds out topcoat gloss so the finish looks its best. Use it on truck cabs, equipment hoods and fenders, trailers, and over body filler. Every KBS topcoat can go over it. The kit includes 1 gallon of base and 1 quart of activator, mixed 4 to 1, and covers about 387 sq ft at about 8 mils total in 2 coats. It dries light grey.Clean the surface with KBS Klean, rinse, and dry. Mix 4 parts base to 1 part activator and mix only what you can spray, since pot life is 20 to 40 minutes. It is ready to spray with a 1.7 to 2.0 mm tip; thin up to 10 percent with KBS number 1 Thinner if needed. Apply 2 coats, putting on the second when the first dulls, normally 5 to 10 minutes. Sand after 1 to 2 hours or longer; if the sandpaper gums up, wait longer. When spraying, wear an air supplied respirator or a NIOSH approved organic vapor cartridge respirator.
