Works great, no instructions.

This hydrant replaced a 10-year old one purchased from TSC that couldn't be repaired because the rod had corroded through. Installation went well onto my old fitting, and the hydrant worked beautifully without adjustment. Drop one star because there were no instructions, especially as to the need for a drain hose mounted from the fitting at the bottom of the hydrant (which I already knew and had prepared for). Someone installing one for the first time might not be aware of this. TSC sells install kits including the bottom elbow and drain hose with fitting, but I made my own as I didn't need the elbow.

Works like a champ

This is a lesson about checking your equipment before you bury it. I bought this because my current one was 50 yo and had been connected directly into galvanized pipe. As a result, it had broken off at the connection site. I reinstalled this one and after burying it, realized that the hydrant leaked, as a result of the constant running of the faucet, the drain hole kept draining and left a swampy mess. At first, i blamed the manufacturer and dug up the hydrant to take back to tractor supply. As i was throwing it into my truck, on a whim i stuck my pinky in the base where the elbow connected and noticed a small rock. My guess is that when i pulled the old hydrant out, a small rock fell into the open pipe. The result is that when i connected this new one and turned the water on, the pressure push the rock up into the base and would not allow the plunger to seal. Pulled the rock out, reinstalled and boom. Works like a champ.
