Will transfering used oil run the pump

The seal material in these pumps is designed for fresh water, agricultural chemicals and salt water. Oil, or any petroleum product with attack the rubber seals and ruin the pump.

can the discharge be reduced down to accommodate a 3/8 hose for spraying?

Asked by: jakie69
3/8” is too much restriction for this pump. Excess pressure can build up and damage the pump. A tee can be put in at the discharge and a line run back to the supply tank to provide for ample flow thru the pump. In dong this, a 5/8” garden hose size could be used.

What does self-priming mean? Just start it up or do you have to fill the pump with water first? Thanks

Asked by: Aslater
The term "self-priming pump" describes a centrifugal pump that can use an air-water mixture to reach a fully-primed pumping condition.
