Q: I have freshly laid zoysia sod, will this be good for it? I was told to get Triple 13, but can't seem to find this anywhere.
5 years ago1 Answer
- A: Zoysia, especially new sod, is prone to disease issues if it gets too much quick release nitrogen. If customer cannot access 13-13-13 in their area, the 10-10-10 or 12-12-12 will do just as well.5 years agoHelpful?
Q: Can this be used in the garden for vegetables that need high nitrogen?
5 years ago3 Answers
- A: I assume your asking because you have some left over in the garage from last years lawn. I would always recomend fresh fertilizer for garden and fertilizer labeled for garden. your lawn will still need it next summer. Alot of lawn fertilizer may have some type build in weed control that could damage your gardens seeds and cause havoc for some time to come. Yes a high nitrogen fertilizer is helpful for green vegatable leaf growth. But I would spend the time to go to the store and get garden fertilizer to be safe.5 years agoHelpful?
Q: It says “designed to control weeds.” Is this also a pre emergent? How does it control weeds? Should it be applied every 4-6 weeks during spring, summer, and fall?
6 years ago1 Answer
- A: This is a high concentration Nitrogen(24%) lawn fertilizer. It is not a pre emergent. It will control the spread of weeds when applied appropriately in the spring and fall with adequate moisture, but its main purpose is to fertilize your lawn and encourage green up and grass growth.6 years agoHelpful?

Forget buying groundworks starter fert from tsc
12 years ago
I bought 3 bags from TSC which they store uncovered. As with most stores there is always some clumping so I always screen it first with wire fence. The bags I bought where totally wet and the clumping was like concrete. I was forced to spread with totally open chute and it still clogged up. I love TSC but will never buy this product again. I even tried rubbing the large clumps against the fencing screen which has 5/16 inch squares and wouldn't break up. I spent 350 bucks on pasture supplies so I am really upset. All bags totally wet . I do love TSC but buy with caution

Wet, clumpy, & unspreadable
I was excited to see the 24-0-4 formula available at TSC. Red flag #1 I had to pick through the pallet in order to find what I thought were good bags....bags were stored under and outside awning. Red Flag #2 I could feel some clumps in the bags, but nothing a little drop on the ground couldn't break up. Red Flag #3 when I opened the bags, fertilizer was completely soaked more clumps that had to be broken up by hand. I tried to spread a few bags and it was useless, barely spread had to keep mixing the product up to try to get it to feed through the spreader. I even tried to dry a bag out on a tarp to see if that would help. Red Flag #4 It took me over 4 hours to spread 4 bags with a 125lb tow behind spreader. I am returning the other bags I bought, and wish I could get a refund on the entire product I bought. I'm not sure if it will even work on my yard with the fertilizer being as wet as it was and who knows how long it had been wet.
No, I do not recommend this product.
