A little extra engineering would go a long way to making this product perfect. It works well but would work better if the outer edge was secured with something more sturdy than the metal arm and plastic nut. Maybe something that attaches to the outer edge of the discharge opening that works like one of those old window locks that had the wingnut screw on them.

Great investment to turn my zero turn into a mulcher. During the rainy season in FL, the wet & humid conditions can easily cause fungus. Before this purchase, mowed grass was shooting out the side forming a blanket of thatch on the lawn surface in some spots which traps moisture onto the lawn causing these problems. Anyway, this mulching kit solved this problem. In addition, when I finish mowing, the amount of loose grass now is minimal since everything cut is basically mulched and reinvested back into the lawn. I’m an average homeowner and was able to install this myself with basic tools.

I've used mulching mowers for years now. So, after a season of cutting with my Cub Cadet with regular blades and getting tired of cleaning up grass clippings, I looked into the mulching blade kit for my zero-turn mower. I would have purchased it sooner but the reviews weren't great. I had hoped they had re-engineered their kit based on that earlier feedback but I was wrong. The "plug" for the grass outlet still lets grass escape from the mowing deck. Even though I sharpened the blades before installing them, they still only provide a marginal cut leaving behind a fair amount of grass clippings behind the mower. Just doesn't seem to mulch the clippings very well. Still better than having to rake up clippings, but not by much.

Product is very good but could be a little better. I found installation to go much easier if I removed the clippings discharge port cover. I then used duct tape across the top of the mulch plug .
