I have used this item twice and it has worked well so far. I did notice that the blades are not that sharp or even as sharp as the original blades on the mower. I read one review after I installed them to knock the paint off the cutting edge first, which might be a good suggestion. First time I used the mulching blades I might of cut too much and they did leave a rough or burn cut. My second time using them did not cut as close/short and appeared to be better. I will watch the cut over the next few weeks and I might sharpen them even though they are brand new and should not need to be sharpened. The plug has worked well so far but I have noticed some cuttings stuck around the plug, but a quick wash out with my electric pressure washer took care of that. The yard was clean without any trails of cut grass when I cut within moderation, cut too much (like my first time) and I did see some trail but took care of that with a second pass. This only my fourth time using a ride on tractor mower and second with the mulch blades, so I am learning as I go. I would rcommend this attachment with the use of the Cub Cadet XT1 42 inch tractor.

This thing is easy to install and fits reasonable well. The problem is that when installed, the deck plugs up with grass, even when the lawn is dry. The washout port is totally ineffective when the plug is in and must be remove to clean out the deck. I would recommend against purchasing this mulching kit.
