- A: Thank you for your inquiry. Our cage wire is galvanized (zinc) for extended life and added durability. Galvanized wire fence is used around the world as farm and garden fencing and for pet containment. While we are not aware of any situations where zinc run-off has occurred and contaminated any vegetables or livestock, you may want to consider alternative options if you are highly concerned of the potential risk. A good price for what you get
10 years ago
As with lots of other roll wire the spacing isn't exact - so if you are building a cage with clips you'll want to measure and cut accordingly. You can get around that by bending the wire to create 4 sides, then cut tops and bottoms 1 inch longer and overlap the cut sides a bit. It makes for a stronger cage anyway. If you are raising rabbits outside then I would suggest you use the 1/2 inch by 1 inch wire because rats can squeeze through the 1 inch by 1 inch wire to steal the food. It is a lot cheaper than the 1/2 inch wire though...

Quality of wire alignment not great
I used this type of wire to go in bottom of mobile chicken coops so they can be moved around to fertilize the pasture with minimum coop cleanout. This wire is not consistently 1"x1". Some of the wire curves back and forth making some of the holes smaller than 1' x 1' causing manure to build up. If you are using this wire for this type of application, I suggest getting a better brand. If that doesn't matter to you, the wire is quite strong and does make a good heavy screen for openings.

Cheaply made, save your money

Cheaply welded, last 2 foot had large gaps like it was missing a wire. Welds break loose easily. I would not recommend this wire.
