Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Kitty litter It makes great kitty litter and you get more for what your paying beats paying an arm and a leg for actual litter when this stuff plus baking soda works better

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful Product I have to say up front I don't use this product for its intended purpose, which is sopping up spills from your driveway or garage. But if you are a water gardener, it makes a fantastic inexpensive planting medium for water lilies and other water plants, as it is pure calcined clay. I like to keep an extra bag around just in case I have something to plant (or maybe an oil spill to sop up someday!). I am sorry, however, that my local TS no longer regularly stocks this product--you have to special order it now. I wish I could still just run down to the store and pick it up without having to order it in advance.

We do not recommend it. It can work but the rain may over-saturate it causing you to use more of the product.

What are the size and color of the particles? What does this look like?

Asked by: herbert666
Response from manufacturer: "The 7941 Safety Absorbent product is produced under a 4 x 20 mesh sizing. The absorbent is montmorillonite clay, and will vary slightly in color from time to time due to the section of the vain it is mined from. The majority of the time, it will appear to be a dark tan, but it could show some signs of gray from time to time, and this is due to the clay being pulled from the lower part of the vain where it typically will be more of a gray tint."

Can this product be used in a chicken coop?

Asked by: Bken
The product can be used in a chicken coop but the manufacturer recommends completely disposing the product once it has been used. The manufacturer also states using in a chicken coop is not the intended use for this product. The manufacturer does not recommend or announce any claims of it being used for an animal food additive.
