I got this splitter anticipating it would not be enough power for some of my needs, but I could not beat the price. Well, it has exceeded my expectations and as long as you can determine where hard to split areas are, it does a great job! I am seriously impressed by how much it can do for the price. It is a great investment. Best of all it is quiet and easy to operate with little maintenance needs.

5-ton Electric Log Splitter

After determining the splitter was shipped with hydraulic oil, we put it to work. Our need was to reduce the size of already split wood so we would have kindling for easier fire starting. It worked about 70% of the time but we found that pushing the wood toward the splitting wedge frequently resulted in the wood flying away several feet. The traditional design of larger splitters (pushing the wedge into the wood) is much safer. Tractor Supply handled the return with no hesitation and our purchase was credited immediately.
No, I do not recommend this product.
