Risk and reward on return merchandise purchase

Bought a return of a brand new 450 Rancher at a steal of a price.
Started and ran without chain but bound-up with it. Previous owner had evidently hit some metal. Got it home and disassembled it. Here is what all was wrong. Clutch bearing shredded, clutch drum missing drive tooth, clutch ok, bar full of burrs and not even right one for saw (nose gear didn't match clutch gear and wrong for model), chain wrong for model (drive teeth).
Even after replacing all of that I have a great working saw for about 1/3 the price.

Husqvarna does not stand behind their product

The first time I used this saw it it failed. I only used it for about 30 minutes. It then stopped running. Took it back and I was just outside of their exchange period. I was then told that it had to be sent in for repair. Husqvarna refused the repair and claimed that it was ran without oil/lubrication. This was completely false. I used Husqvarna 2cycle oil mixed with one gallon of gas, just like the bottle says. It was the same gas I used in our smaller Stihl saw. I had to use the Stihl to finish the job. It worked just fine on that gas and continued to work fine on that gas. I 100% believe this was a faulty saw from the factory. Husqvarna just made a bad product and they just did not want to stand behind their product. I would have been okay with getting a faulty saw because I know that every company puts out some bad product from time to time, but not standing behind it and not honoring the warranty they offer. That is just wrong. I will be leaving this same review everywhere I possible can to hopefully help someone else from making the wrong choice to buy Husqvarna.

Overall good saw

I bought this chainsaw in October 2025. I have cut a lot of wood with it and have absolutely no problem with its cutting ability and strength. The problem I do have is the lubrication for the chain. It is a fixed oil pump so you cannot increase the oil flow. The only thing you could do. The only thing you could do is tear the chainsaw down so you can clean every little component. Husqvarna really screwed up when they did this.

I have been extremely pleased with my Husqvarna 450. Cranks and runs well, plenty of power. I ran it low on oil in my fuel mixture and had to do a home rebuild on it. It's back and running as good as ever.

If you want a chainsaw that doesn’t start, buy it

If you want a chainsaw that will have to sit in the shed because it never wants to start, get this chainsaw. I will never buy anything from Husqvarna again.
No, I do not recommend this product.
