The Spectra Canine 9 Vaccine for Dogs with Syringe is a smart choice for canine vaccinations, providing 9-way protection. The dog or puppy shots are for subcutaneous vaccinations of healthy dogs 6 weeks of age or older as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by canine distemper, infectious canine hepatitis, canine adenovirus type 2 (CAV-2), canine parainfluenza, canine parvovirus type 2b, leptospira canicola, leptospira grippotyphosa, leptospira icterohaemorrhagiae and leptospira pomona. To use the dog vaccine, simply open the syringe by twisting or tapping the cap against a hard surface to break the heat weld. There's 1 dose per order. Talk to your vet about using Spectra today.

  • For dogs 6 weeks of age or older, allowing use as puppy shots
  • Meets or exceeds USDA standards
  • Contains type 2B parvovirus for rapid immunity and cross protection against all recognized field strains
  • Parvo fraction is high titration, low passage; high vaccine titers help overcome low-level maternal antibody interference in puppies
  • Easy, do-it-yourself canine vaccinations yield huge savings, especially for multiple dog owners, breeders and shelters
  • Designed as the economical dog vaccine option
  • Dosage is 1 mL of injected subcutaneously; open syringe by twisting or tapping the cap against a hard surface to break the heat weld; prepare the vaccine by injecting the diluent into the vial containing the desiccated vaccine cake; shake well
  • Important Note: Before injecting the vaccine, pull back slightly on the syringe plunger; if blood enters the syringe freely, choose another injection site; a recommended vaccination schedule should start at or about 6 weeks of age
  • See label for complete directions and precautions

Q: What vaccine does a 7month old puppy need. If it hasn’t had a shot since 8weeks old

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Neighbor! At 7 months old with only an 8-week shot, your puppy needs a "catch-up" series: two doses of DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus) given 3–4 weeks apart, a single Rabies shot, and likely Leptospirosis and Bordetella based on lifestyle

Q: Difference between 9 and 20

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Karen! The Canine Spectra 9 vaccine includes the 5 core canine diseases (Distemper, Hepatitis, Adenovirus, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza) and 4 strains of Leptospirosis. There is no official "Spectra 20" canine vaccine available; you may be thinking of Spectra 10, which adds Coronavirus protection.

Excellent Product without paying an arm/leg

Excellent, effective product. For an owner of 7 dogs, this really helps out my wallet by a goo 80% and the mixing of the vaccine and injecting your pet is 100% fool proof. I never have stuck an animal but the "dummy style instructions, it was oh so simple.

Allergic Reaction

We have used Spectra 7 for years with no problem. This year Spectra 9 was available. We vaccinated our dog and a few hours later he couldn't stand. When we helped him up, he staggered around. It was quite scary. He's a big guy too - a very tall, 100 lb Golden Retriever. We had him vet checked and she agreed it was probably an allergic reaction to the shot since everything else is fine. She said when this happens, it's often caused by the carrier of the vaccine, not the vaccine. She did suggest "Don't use it again." Just saying...

Cheaper than vet, same product

I have been using these vaccinations on my dogs for years. Saves a lot of money and same results. I wish Rabies were available still have to pay vet $100 for a less than $20 vaccine every year. They seem to have gotten away from the 3 year rabies...guess it wasn't financially feasible. Very happy with the product, site and staff at the new Tractor Supply store.

get an extra needle, you have been warned

easy to mix. been 7 hours now, no side effects. would give 5 stars if they gave a better needle, makes sense to use two, you poke two things with it then you poke the dog. it was very tough to get in the first layer of skin, I'll def be using the product but I recommend getting an extra needle. one for pulling and mixing and a separate one for injection as they do at the vet clinic? I like how its all in one, I was advised to save/take a picture of the receipt and packaging for the records by the employees.

Yes, I recommend this product.
