Lightweight and Maneuverable! Just looking for a great brush mower? The PREMIER is our lightest and most maneuverable DR Field and Brush Mower. Unlike its bigger brothers, the PREMIER is designed exclusively as a mower (it does not accept our optional attachments), which allowed us to take weight out of the frame...and that translates into easier, more responsive handling in the field. with a 26 in. cutting width and three forward speeds (as well as powered reverse) the PREMIER has everything you need to churn through the thickest field grass and clear out overgrown brush, including saplings up to 2 in. in diameter. The OHV engine starts easily every time, and the big, lugged tires track reliably over all kinds of uneven terrain. This is one solid mower!Engine: 2 years residential; 1 year commercial; Machine: 2 years residential; 90 days commercial

  • Superior Mulching Our decks are enclosed on 3 sides, so that cut material is chopped and re-chopped, reducing grass and brush to a fine mulch. This means less material is left behind in your field, and none of the windrows you get with side-discharging mowers.
  • Assembled in the USA Assembled in the USA using foreign and domestic parts. Ships direct from our Wisconsin factory.
  • 10.5 HP Briggs & Stratton PowerBuilt Engine The legendary power, performance and durability of Briggs & Stratton engines make them the obvious choice for our Walk-Behind Field and Brush Mowers. The PRO 26 10.5 HP model uses a durable 344 cc Overhead Valve PowerBuilt Series manual-starting Briggs engine with cast-iron cylinder sleeve.
  • Gear-Driven Transmission: Lock it in and Rip it up! Unlike hydrostatic drives, the DR's geared transmission lets you lock in your ground speed, leaving your hands free to steer the machine across uneven terrain (instead of fussing with touchy throttle controls as you go). with 3 forward gears, you can choose a fixed pace that's right for you.
  • Big, Lugged Tires for Sure Traction These are big (16 in. x 4.75 in.), lugged tires that pull the PREMIER through or over just about anything, and they are sealant filled...which means they're highly resistant to puncture. Tough as nails, apparently!
  • Custom-Made Blade Spindle Made of 1.375 in. thick cast iron with oversized double sealed bearings, the blade spindle is integrated into the deck housing and reinforced for vibration-free performance. Designed to provide years of maintenance-free use (and abuse!).
  • Adjustable Handlebars A comfortable working height is important, especially when traversing rough terrain.
  • Ergonomic Controls Both on the control panel and on the grips, all DR Field and Brush Mowers controls are designed to optimize operator comfort and minimize hand fatigue. Everything you need is right at your fingertips, so there is no walking around the mower to make adjustments.
  • Heavy-Duty Powder Coating Our frames and decks are finished with a tough, durable powder coating that resists scratching and promotes long life.

Worth the money!

Excellent mower, I had an overgrown acre it took 8 hours to mow it but it had a lot of saplings on it and it mowed them right down. Proud we bought it.

Works well after a lot of user input/adjustment

Mower was loaded on my trailer inside of a skeletal crate. I should have done my due diligence and inspected it before leaving. We live over 100 miles from the nearest Tractor Supply, so it was the next morning before the mower was removed from the crate. The accessory bag was missing so there was no instruction manual and no bolts to mount the handle assembly to the machine. No big deal, 30 miles to town to buy some bolts and lock washers and a couple quarts of oil (sump comes dry and no oil supplied) and downloaded the manual from online. Once I got the handle installed and had a chance to go through the manual, new problem discovered; the cover for the blade drive pulley was missing. Didn’t think it looked right to begin with but never gave it much thought. Took some time to get started, but ran well. Another new problem; drive will not engage, forward or reverse. Went to the troubleshooting section of the manual and found that the clutch cable needed adjustment. A lot of adjustment. Not sure there’s much adjustment left. Finally got the machine up and running and seriously considered returning it, but I have several acres that need attention now and wasn’t looking forward to the 200+ mile round trip. As far as operation goes, so far it seems to work really well. The only real complaint for operation is the amount of pressure you have to constantly maintain on the blade drive engagement lever. Hand started cramping after an hour.

Nice machine

For some reason my husband got confused and didn't put enough engine oil in the brand new machine. Then the aluminum engine melted during use. Wouldn't start, zero compression. Took it to a authorized repair and it had no oil. Cost us almost as much as the brand new machine was to replace the engine. So please carefully check the oil levels. *cry*

Lacking Power

Looks quality built, engine starts easily the forward and reverse shifting is not very smooth seems like future problems, it cuts dry moderately thick brush good but would not cut 2ft-3ft tall green grass/weeds, not enough power.

Thank you for leaving us a review about your new brush mower. When shifting between gears, ensure that after moving the shift lever to the desired gear, that you slowly and gently squeeze the Traction Drive Lever to engage the gear. This mower should have no issue cutting through 4' High Grass, 8' High Weeds and Brush, and 2" Dia. Saplings. if this has not been your experience, make sure that the Throttle Lever is in the run position when mowing, and mow slowly, especially when clearing thick stands of brush or weeds. Additionally, verify that the air filter and spark plugs are clean. If dirty or old, replace. The same goes for gas and oil- make sure you are using fresh gasoline and oil to ensure proper engine performance. If you need additional support with your product, contact us at www.DRpower.com. CAUTION.... CHECK ALL BOLTS

I bought the cutter due to reputation, but was shocked when i picked it up in a crate that after unpacking it, I found the very important front brush bar was never secured at the factory. This caused lost bolts and fasteners to come loose and be lost in transit. I have have had the unit for over 2 weeks and cant use it. They are unable to ship the fasteners . They stated they are on back order......really, these are nuts to a bolt. This set me back to the hottest months to do this heavy work and im 67 years old. SHAME ON DR. Tractor Supply was great .
