I submitted a earlier unfavorable review because the add says it comes with a 9ah battery, but the box says it contains a 3ah battery. After much research, we determined that there was actually a 9ah battery in the box. The logic is that the battery is a true 9ah with a 20v tool. Since the Trimmer is a 60v tools draws 3 times the juice, resulting in the battery performing as a 3ah battery. It’s extremely misleading. But buy it knowing that there’s a 9ah flex volt battery inside, despite what the box says.

The description as of 11/27/2020 "DeWALT Flexvolt 60V MAX String Trimmer Kit (9Ah Battery + Charger), DCST970X1S" is incorrect. It only came with a 3 Ah battery.

DEWALT FlexVolt 15 in. 60V Max

I purchased this because my trusty Stihl FS95 would not start for me. I fully expected to be disappointed with the power that I was used to. I was wrong. This Dewalt is a beast much like my gas powered Stihl. I live on an acreage and have some very difficult trimming jobs. Of course I am limited to battery life, but I am very pleased with how long it does last. After all that, I find out that I have been running it in low. There is a high setting that has even more power! A word of warning, some of these reviews warn of a missing battery and charger. My box looked obviously resealed. I opened it up after purchase and sure enough, no battery and no charger. I immediately took it back to the register and the manager was called. She soon came back with a battery and charger that was in some sort of display case. She claimed it may have been a display model. Check your box.

Not worth it!

I bought this about a year ago and it's nothing but trouble. The stock string is trash, I've never gone through a roll so fast. I replaced the stock deflector shield as it's Way too small and doesn't stop anything. And now the string feed doesn't work, I have to manually pull the string out, about every 15 seconds. And I haven't yet charged it even 10 times.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Ready to get beat up?

Dewalt failed on this design by making the guard too small. If you look at most weedeaters (I currently have 3) you will notice this has a much smaller guard. It will throw stuff from above your head and very hard. Must wear thick pants and eye protection or you will get beat up. Otherwise it's a great machine. Very powerful. Worth paying for the 60V. Not sure if this is a newer version considering the previous reviews. Whoever designed this obviously has never used a weedeater. Guess I'll be burning up wearing thick clothing when it's 100 degrees outside. I have the pole saw ant it is excellent.
