Q: If Greenworks doesn’t make the 0.125 replacement string then what can I buy to replace the string when it’s gone?
4 days ago- A: Hi JRPA! You won’t need to purchase Greenworks-branded line for this trimmer. When the original line is used up, you can purchase 0.125-inch twisted trimmer line from another retailer or manufacturer and install it in the existing trimmer head. It’s best to stay with the specified 0.125-inch diameter and avoid anything thicker, as oversized line can place unnecessary strain on the motor. If you’d like help confirming a replacement before purchasing, please contact Greenworks Support at 1-888-909-6757 or through Live Chat. We’ll be happy to help you find a suitable option!2 days agoHelpful?
Q: Can I use blades on this tool like hand held string trimmers allow?
20 days ago- A: Hi Kim! This 60V wheeled string trimmer is designed for use with trimmer line and is not compatible with metal cutting blades. It’s best to use the specified .125-inch trimmer line so the cutting system remains properly balanced and operates with the protection provided by the guard. For brush or growth that’s too heavy for trimmer line, a tool specifically designed and approved for blade cutting would be a safer fit. If you’d like help choosing the right Greenworks option, please call us at 1-888-909-6757 or reach out through Live Chat. We’ll be happy to help.18 days agoHelpful?

Q: Does the string break every time you hit a rock? What about pinecones?
4 months ago- A: Hello Nikki, thank you for your question! The line won’t break every time you hit something, but contact with hard surfaces like rocks, concrete, or curbs will wear it down much faster and can cause it to snap. That’s normal for any string trimmer. Things like pinecones or softer debris are usually fine—they might nick the line over time, but they’re much less likely to break it instantly. The manual actually calls this out too—hard materials like stone and brick can cause quicker wear and breakage, so it’s best to trim with the tip of the line and avoid direct contact with those surfaces when possible. If you ever need tips on getting the most life out of your line, give us a shout at 1-888-909-6757 or connect with us on live chat—we’ve got you.4 months agoHelpful?
Q: Can this equipment operate on steep hillsides?
5 months ago- A: Hello Philbert, thank you for your question. This walk-behind string trimmer is designed for use on relatively level or moderately uneven terrain. For safety and optimal performance, use caution on slopes and avoid operating on inclines greater than 15°. When trimming on a slope, it is recommended to move across the incline rather than up and down to help maintain stability and control. If you have further questions, please contact the Greenworks Customer Success Team at 1-888-909-6757 or reach out through Live Chat on our website.5 months agoHelpful?
