That’s normal for any string trimmer. Things like pinecones or softer debris are usually fine—they might nick the line over time, but they’re much less likely to break it instantly. The manual actually calls this out too—hard materials like stone and brick can cause quicker wear and breakage, so it’s best to trim with the tip of the line and avoid direct contact with those surfaces when possible. This tool works like I hoped it would. It is a bit hard to maneuver and heavy but it does the job. It doesn't do big weeds very well the string keeps breaking. I am happy with it and glad I purchased it.I wish it was easier to find the string to buy.
