Replaced screw type bleed with this item, as I was not as diligent about draining the tank as I should have been. 1/4 turn, plus being waaay more accessible is a huge improvement.

If you are planning to buy a 60-gallon DeWalt compressor (or probably most of the other DeWalt larger compressors), BUY THIS ITEM AT THE SAME TIME!! I thought the original drain valve was cheesy, and sure enough, it was always hard to use, and it failed for good about 6 months after purchasing my compressor new. In addition, my original drain valve always had a slow leak in it, and this extended tank drain valve assembly COMPLETELY solved this problem. Furthermore, the new valve is MUCH EASIER to use this MUCH MORE ROBUST valve, so it is extremely easy to drain the tank every single day the compressor is used vs. maybe once a week with the old, leaky valve. And now there's no puddle of rust on the floor. Don't put too much analysis into replacing the original valve with such a low price, JUST DO IT!!!

This drain is so much better than the original DeWalt drain. I no longer have to try to fit my hand under the compressor to drain it, and the air flow is much better with the ball valve. I now have superior moisture draining that is much easier to do.

It was very hard to reach the drain on my compressor. This thing I great, no more getting down on my knees to drain my compressor.
