This self-pollinating variety produces medium to large, pinkish bronze grapes. Muscadine Grape 'Triumph' is a dormant plant selected by DeGroot, offering you the opportunity to get a head start to the season! Due to its dormant state, this plant may lack foliage until it is planted. There is no need to wait until after frost, this may be planted as soon as the ground is workable. This early planting prevents transplant shock and allows it more time to develop its root system. If your plant does have foliage, provide protection from frost. - A: Thank you for your inquiry. Triumph Grape may be planted in any well-drained soil, in full sun. Dig a hole large enough to encompass the roots without bending or circling. Set the plant crown (where the top meets the roots) 1-2" deep, make sure 4-5" of the top show above the soil surface. Cover with soil to the original soil surface and water thoroughly. Fertilize when planting. We recommend planting in a location sheltered from winter winds (preferably a southern facing slope). Hope and a prayer.

The plants that TSC had left one year were basically dead due to lack of watering. They had 4 of the Triumph muscadine plants left, but they looked sad. I asked the manager if she would sell them for 50% off as I thought they mostly were dead, but might recover. She finally said yes, but only if I took all 4. Short story long, I did. 3 were dead and never acted as if they would recover, but one did. I babied it for the 1st year and got it up to the top wire (50") then down the wire each direction about 5 feet. 2nd year it finished growing the 10 feet each way and put on some heavy growth. This past February, I pruned it as I should have, and it has jumped off the wire. Shoots everywhere and loaded down with blossom pods. Looking forward to a good harvest (I hope) come late summer/early fall. I tried to buy a couple more of this variety, but they sold out before I got there.

Takes Time But Worth It

You have to be prepared to wait for this to grow. You also need to prune it properly the first year, do your homework. I purchased 1 plant and I've been up and down with the grape vine, 1st good, 2nd year disappointed, 3rd year thought I'd have fruit but I pruned wrong and finally this 4th year... I've hit the jackpot!! Fruit and lots of it. Be patient, take care of your vine, learn everything you can about starting a grape vine and pruning and you'll enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Don't buy

The store guaranteed that it'd live despite no leave but it didn't. Planted as directed and waited for about a month, no sign of living. Disappointed!!

25% chances to grow

Purchased 3 and only 1 grow after 1.5 months. Other 2 plant no any sign and looks like now my patient out for wait more because only one grow.
