The DeGroot Red/Violet Kiwi Prolific Plant is a flavorful cultivar with smooth skin, so there is no need to peel them, unlike the fuzzy variety! This self-pollinating kiwi vine may be used as a pollinator for other female cultivars. It has a reddish-violet blush on the skin and flesh when ripe. The fruit may vary in size but is similar to several varieties of grapes. 'Prolific' is more cold-tolerant than other species and is mainly grown in colder areas, where temperatures can range from 10 deg. F to -18 deg. F. Don’t waste your money!

There isn’t anything I liked about it it never grew!
It was a route when I got it. There was a small stem that had come up through the bag as most of them do I followed all the instructions and no matter what I did to it it died. I purchased two of these, and they both died.

Growing well, looking forward to fresh kiwi…

So far so good….bought about a month ago and planted in a pot and put under a grow light. Keeping soil moist and it has grown about 12 inches. Will wait until after frost free date to plant outside to ensure it’s strong enough. Like that this variety doesn’t need a pollinator like all other varieties.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought 2 of these. Neither was anything but a black stick but I planted them anyway. Suprise- dead.
