A classic heirloom favorite dating from the 1920s, this ribbed melon has a heavily netted skin. Also called muskmelon. Slightly more drought tolerant than most melons, but all melons are more than 90% water. Likes hot weather. Delicious, firm flesh is rich with antioxidants. To save space, plant 1 ft. apart at the base of a trellis where vines can climb. Maturity: 85-days after planting.

Very fresh

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The cantaloupe was amazing! It was very juicy and the flavor was sweet and so fresh. It was the size of a soccer ball. It was a quality cantaloupe for sure. There’s no assembly or packaging.

Delicious, juicy melons that grow large and taste

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a great experience growing the Hales Best Jumbo Cantaloupe from Bonnie Plants. The vines were healthy and gave me big, sweet melons with tons of flavor. The inside was juicy and had that perfect balance—firm enough to slice but still tender. Cutting one open on a hot day felt like such a reward, and it tasted amazing. If you’re into cantaloupe, this variety is worth planting.
