Roots turned out to be moldy when I bought this !! what a scam

I bought this tree this week got it home and it was so dead that the roots had already started rotting

Enjoy your apple stick. I bought an Anna apple and a sequoia strawberry in January, waiting for it to get a little warmer to plant. The Anna Apple had its main roots chopped off to only about two or three inches. I had to spend about $13 staking it. There is no way it can stand on its own. It probably won't even grow. I could have rooted my own stick with this result🙄. What a scam. The strawberry box was supposed to contain 10 plants and it only had one plant. When I called the company customer service, I did not get a call back. You do have to get your receipt and keep the original packaging and who really does that? I've got burned by Degroot so many times, and I probably have one success out of trying to grow their plants for years.

Horrible tree.! 😫 We have planted 22 trees in our backyard. We planted 1 Arbor Day Foundation Pink Lady Bare-Root tree in 4/24 it is doing phenomenal, we are very impressed.!! Tractor Supply Degroot trees, & Honeycrisp tree is packaged exactly like our Arbor Day pink lady tree was. In a bag bare-root in dirt. We purchased our honeycrisp in March 2025 it started to grow, it has completely stopped growing. The tiny 3 leaves it did grow, curled up and fell off. This is the second year I gave Degroot a chance lesson learned. My friend and I each bought a honeycrisp last year from Tractor Supply both of our trees did not grow. I thought I’ll give them another chance, maybe I just did something wrong. The worst part is you cannot return these trees to tractor supply to get another.! The constant repetitive response from Degroot repeating the same response over and over below on other reviews or questions.! Instead of Degroot maybe respond with ….we are very sorry this has happened and we would like to make this right for you. We will send you a new tree! I’ll never purchase another Degroot tree nor will I ever buy another tree from Tractor Supply lesson learned. TWICE!
