Bought this model last summer. Brought it home and there was a bolt loose INSIDE the motor. Started it and it sounded awful. Traded it out for another. Ran it last fall with no problems, even ran it out of fuel to keep the carb from gumming up. Went to start it a year later and it wont start. Lines are CRACKED, and clearly the carb has something wrong with it…. Would not recommend

This is more a review of Canton TS, I suppose, than the County Line splitter itself. It's portable enough. The Log Splitter that was sold to me as new was previously used and not operational. At time of pickup, I pointed out various scrapes and rusty spots on the machine and asked if this was a previously used machine. The Associate assured me that it was brand new, and that such blemishes occurred during transit. I believed him. I took the Splitter home and after more inspection, found several rusty patches, a bend in a tire rim, that the engine was grimy with oil and debris, there was oil puddled on top of the cooling fins. I should have inspected closely before buying, but, again, I believed him. The engine oil had to be topped off. The hydraulic oil tank was low; I had to make a trip out to purchase hydraulic oil before I could use the machine, which is sold as ready to operate. I worked long at getting it to fire up but was unsuccessful. When I removed the air filter cover, I found its compartment filled with a green fluid and the filter soaked beyond usefulness. I took the machine back to the store the day after purchase. I spoke to the person who helped me with the pick-up (who had assured me that the machine was new and unused), but he refused to come out and look it over. Instead, he simply told the Checker to refund me. Before returning the splitter back to the store (a 30-mile round trip), I had called the Flowood store to ask about a replacement. They refused to honor the sale price that I got at Canton, but they did tell me that they had three units on hand. The folks at Canton refused to remedy the situation by transferring one of the units from Flowood – claimed that they were unable to do so. The staff at Canton were clearly unconcerned that I was displeased that they had sold me a non-working, used item and had lied about its condition, and they were stiffly uninterested in helping a dissatisfied customer. Be careful what you buy at the Canton Tractor Supply.

Disposable - worked about 8 hours then just died. Engine shop says the engine is fine off the machine and the repair shop says "maybe a few months". MONTHS? Winter is coming and this thing really let me down. I would NOT recommend this machine. I wasted $1600 on this. I guess it is time to go get a Northstar.
