It isn't as bad as they say it is.

I bought this even though the reviews said it was too weak, and it bent immediately I'm small log, wasn't worth the money, etc. The first time I used it I used to roll over and hold up 15 in eucalyptus logs and it did just fine. Next I used it to rollover a bunch of 12 to 20 in oak logs and it did fine. Is it the best one that is available on the market? No probably not. But it was the best one that was on the shelf the day that I needed one. they continue to work so well that when it was stolen out of the back of my truck I went and bought another one. If you're only trying to lift up one side of the log to cut it splitting lengths it's probably not going to "break it on the first log". You got to be as smart as the tool in order to use it.

Not a serious tool
I cut 3 - 4 cords of firewood a year, and never have had one of these tools. I've always just lifted the logs I'm cutting off the ground with other firewood, or I cut 3/4 the way through, roll the log and finish the other 1/4.
So I bought one of these thinking it would be easier and faster than my other method.
When i assembled this tool, I wondered about its strength, due to several pieces being bolted together. The very first log I used it on, it failed. The bracket holding the hook, bent right over. The log I was lifting was about an 9inch oak, approx 20 feet long. weight on that log is about 500 - 600 lbs. I think the tool should have easily handled that. There is no capacity listed on the box or assembly instructions. The log shown on the packaging appears much larger in diameter than mine, but it is quite a bit shorter, maybe 10 or 12 feet. Weight of the two is probably within 100 lbs.
I'm sure Tractor Supply will honor a return, but don't waste your time on this tool.

Item is fairly helpful while not made entirely robust, it does get the job done. Be careful with heavier logs tho.

Nice tool for the money!

Well built tool, made of steel with no wooden handle. It was a tad bit small for the logs I was cutting but it performed admirable even though It was overloaded.

Light duty only
Will not hold up to even moderate use. This is light duty at best. After the first use on a 12” diameter magnolia tree it has a slight bend in it. I measured the tree. Made sure all branches were cut, and applied slow even pressure. You shouldn’t have to baby something like this but I did and it still has a bend in it. The pole is hole and screws together in 2 pieces which makes it impossible to use long term. Should be a solid metal pole and one piece. To call this heavy duty is deceitful in my opinion.
