I just bought this feeder and when I mounted it on the pole, the middle section cracked apart. It’s not very sturdy, but it looks pretty. I will use duct tape to try to hold it together.

HANGING WIRE IS WAY TOO SMALL IN DIAMETER/STRENGTH

Seed feeder is beautiful but too fragile. "A chain is only as strong as its weakest link," which applies here too. The absolute MOST important criticism is the small diameter WIRE upholding those 10 pounds of seed. It needs to be 2X thicker to withstand wear and tear from wind movement and other friction causes. If the HANGING WIRE is bigger and better quality, the complaints about it dropping and breaking would be almost eliminated barring other causes.
