Aerating your lawn with Brinly's 40 in. Tow-Behind Spike Aerators loosens soil and permits seed, fertilizer, and water to reach roots. Featuring a rugged gunmetal-tone finish, the all-steel design includes 10 3D steel tines in galvanized steel that perforate the ground over 2 in. in depth. The innovative 3D shape, with over 12 razor-sharp tips per star, is tested to be two times stronger than flat tines and resists bending, even in compacted soil. Each 8 in. diameter star also rotates independently and continues revolving during tractor turns, resulting in fewer passes due to missed areas. The 14 ga. steel weight tray allows for up to 110 lb. of additional weight to be added for maximum penetration in harder soils. The more you aerate, the better your lawn looks and feels. Check the box for ALL parts first! I opened the box, which was still factory sealed only to find parts, nuts, bolts, washers, cotter pins all loose and everywhere in the box! Putting it together was no problem at all, be sure to get the square washers in tight! I used it on my lawn yesterday and it seemed to do just fine. I used two brick-o-blocks for the weight on it. There are holes on the deck of it to bungee the blocks in place, so they don't bounce off when using the aerator. It hooked up just perfect behind my 42-inch Cub Cadet XT-1

The Brinly Tow-Behind 40 in. Tow Spike Aerator with 3-D Galvanized Steel Tines is well made and easily and quickly assembled for general usage on flat ground/lawns because the unit does not flex and it totally rigid.

Quick assembly required caution and wearing glove due to sharp tines. Which were very effective piercing ground after a soaking rain. Cinder locks increased effectiveness. Stored with simple wood boards tented over it to prevent pets from harm
