The Behlen Country Energy-Free Super 2-Hole Livestock Waterer is designed for heavy cattle use in extremely cold temperatures. This Behlen is energy-free and waterer-tested at -20 deg. F for 48 hours without freezing and with no animals drinking. Our energy-free livestock waterers feature a rim design that helps keep float balls free of ice buildup, extra-thick 4 urethane insulation and 20 animal capacity minimums. The durable poly construction offers longevity. It also comes ready to install for easy setup.

- Non-siphoning MC water valve features fast, consistent fill; use with pressure lines from 25-55 PSI
- Additional Behlen energy-free waterer pressure regulator required for pressures above 55 PSI
- Removable drain plugs and accessible covers

- Warranty note: 5 year limited warranty on the body and 1 year limited warranty on valves and controls
- To ensure proper operation in cold weather, it is recommended that each unit be installed with the Poly Earth Tube (purchased separately)
- For optimal performance install in shaded area in hot climates
- Heavy foam insulation keeps water at the perfect temperature, regardless of conditions; ground water enters the unit between 48 deg. F and 56 deg. F, where it remains until the waterer is opened by the animal; as the animal drinks, new water enters through
- When the waterer is not in use, an optional shut-off valve kit prevents water from entering and drains the waterline to prevent freeze up
- Energy-free livestock waterers float balls push down effortlessly, requiring half the pressure of competitors' float balls, so even calves, sheep and other small animals can drink easily

It will provide more than enough capacity, but it’s designed for larger herds, so it may be bigger than necessary. - A: That will depend on the time of year and your location (environment) during that time. The Energy Free waterers rely on the agitation of the water to keep them from freezing. The 2 hole waterers require a minimum of 20 head drinking on them. This requirement is more crucial in the colder climates. You would not want the waterer to sit for more than 24 hrs without animals drinking on them.5 years agoHelpful?
Q: can this be used for sheep and alpaca

- A: The energy free Super 2 hole waterer is 28” high. With the normal installation, this would not work for sheep. This may work for Alpaca, depending on their natural drinking height. You could slope the ground up to the right height, after proper install, to allow the sheep to walk up to the waterer to drink. If you are planning on using the energy free waterer, set it up with the balls out of the unit to show the animals that this is a watering hole. Then place the balls in it after they get used to drinking from the waterer. When you place the balls back in the waterer, set your water level lower so the animals can smell the water. Then gradually increase the level so the balls are about ¼” away from the top. Enough to stick a pencil through, around the entire ball.6 years agoHelpful?
