Rated 4 out of 5 by from VERY STURDY GREAT PRODUCT. WE USE ON OUR SHOW CATTLE. MAKE SURE THAT YOU PUT A BOARD BEHIND IT IN THE GAP OR IF THEY LEAN OR IT HIT THE WATER WILL RUN OUT AND CAUSE A MUDDY MESS UNDER IT.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Little water Bucket The Little Water Bucket is a good size for our horses. The Pros of this Bucket are 1. Good size and fresh water. 2. Easy to install. 3. Good working inlet water (float) system. 4. Great Price and Fast Shipping. Cons 1. No Drain. (Had to Install a drain, as it will get dirty). 2. Metal Brackets bend under weight, but still hold.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value But Needs a Bit of Modification Installed this on the side of the house so animals on the homestead would have a constant source of water during our hot summers. It ultimately worked out very nicely, but not without a couple issues along the way. The first, and largest problem, is the white plastic adapter that is supplied to connect the jumper hose to the feeder. If your water pressure ever makes an excursion to more than 70psi or so, that adapter is likely to leak, or allow the hose to blow off entirely, with the potential to cause a flood and/or very large water bill. The fix I came up with is to install a hose clamp around the adapter and tighten it down after the jumper hose is securely screwed in. This will reinforce the plastic connector and prevent it's failure. See picture for how to install the clamp. The other issue is that the float may be poorly adjusted when you receive the unit. There are U-Tube videos on how to adjust the float. The water should come up to the ridge a couple of inches below the bucket rim. If it is appreciably above that, it may occasionally overflow and trickle continuously. As others mentioned, you will probably want a drain hole to facilitate cleaning, and you definitely want something solid to support the bottom of the bucket of you have large animals using it.

Can I run a cpvc instead of a hose?

Asked by: Caesar00
Yes, as long as you can match the threads for the adapter (J3412 3/4 x 1/2 NPTF Adaptor). Also we must note, if you use pvc, it will be more difficult to replace parts if/when needed.

Can or Do these operate from a low-flow or gravity fed 275 gallon water tote with the water flow going downhill on approximately a 15 -20 % slope

Asked by: Patriot2000
This product is designed to be used on a pressurized system. However, it will work on a gravity feed system. The water will fill the bucket at a considerably lower rate than if it was pressurized. It is guessed that using the gravity feed, it may be at a 1-5 psi compared to 20-50 psi when pressurized.

We have a well. Can I attach the provided hose to my garden hose and just the water on 24/7? I didn't know if it would regulate when the water would be allowed to flow or do I need to run pvc pipe to provide a separate water supply?

Asked by: Crystal D
This dependable, float-controlled model simply hooks up to a standard 3/4 inch garden hose to automatically deliver fresh water 24-7 in above-freezing temperatures.

We live in a cold climate. Is there any heater that will keep the water from freezing?

Asked by: labchickdarcy
A floating de-icer, with a metal guard, should do what you need.

Can the hose connection be placed on either side of the bucket?

Asked by: JLCK
The waterer is shipped with the float assembly installed on the right side of the waterer base. The float assembly can be installed on either side of the waterer to best suit your application.
