Q: Does the Ashley Hearth Products DVAG30N 25000 BTU Direct Vent Natural Gas Heater, require electricity? Can it operate with a battery?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi there, Thank you for your question. Using a wall heater to heat a single room can be a money saving alternative to turning on central heating. They're great for bathrooms and entryways, and provide zonal heat for rooms you use the most. Electric wall heaters require a dedicated circuit, and run on either 120 or 240 volts, with several wattage options

RE: Unreliable - pilot continuously goes out.

Thankfully, my heater is working fine. However, Usually, a pilot light going out continuously is a sign that the thermocouple needs to be replaced. You can order from US Stove. Also, if for some reason the flame is not directly on the thermocouple, that could cause the flame to go out. Also, sometimes the little holes that the gas goes thru to get to the pilot needs cleaning. Sometimes an obstructed exhaust pipe could cause this, too. There are a lot of videos on YouTube that discuss this problem. Any plumber should be able to help you with this. Unfortunately, this is a problem that can happen to any gas heater. All it takes is a little piece of dirt or dust :-( Good Luck!
