Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very quite heater would definitely buy another one Very quite, easy set up, and puts off plenty of heat! Thermostat would be a great option but it is easy to start and stop so not a big issue!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent output but not good cold startup... This heater is the perfect size to take the chill off of a large 2-car garage, for short periods of time. I purchased this heater to warm my garage, in order to do some mechanical work when it was in the teens outside. The garage is un-insulated and has open air flow to the eave soffits, so ventilation was not an issue. That said, once it fired up and came to operating temperature, it was very clean and odor free operation. My only disappointment was that the heater is very unforgiving of cold startup temperatures - anything under 30°F - and it will not ignite. I have had to put a small electric space heater behind it to "prime" it with warmth, in order to get it to fire up and stay operating. (When cold, it fires up for a second or two, then goes into lockout.) Fuel needs to be replenished fairly often, but that's due to a smaller tank than many units. I would recommend this unit, but with the caveat that cold-temperature startup could be a limiting issue. Especially if no alternative heat source is available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! works as it should. use in a well ventilated space for the first few hours of run time. after that it seemed to burn cleaner and need as much fresh air. Heats my 30 x 30 insulated shop to 80*+ when its below freezing outside. running kero cut with diesel

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far... very good using Kerosene A lot of the negative reviews on this unit are about it not lighting or staying lit or something along those lines. However... i think they must be trying the alternate fuels. Using Kerosene this unit has been functioning perfectly. It lights every time, is quiet and heats very well. Low odor as well. To me, it is excellent and yes Kerosene is expensive but it works perfectly and I'm not about to mess with perfection.

will it work on diesel fuel? if so, will it affect the warranty?

Asked by: nc449
Yes, -nc449 it will work on clear diesel #1 that is not dyed nor contains additives, as the additives can cause damage to seals in the unit. In colder temps you can also do a 70/30 split with Kerosene to prevent gelling.
