This heater is the perfect size to take the chill off of a large 2-car garage, for short periods of time. I purchased this heater to warm my garage, in order to do some mechanical work when it was in the teens outside. The garage is un-insulated and has open air flow to the eave soffits, so ventilation was not an issue. That said, once it fired up and came to operating temperature, it was very clean and odor free operation. My only disappointment was that the heater is very unforgiving of cold startup temperatures - anything under 30°F - and it will not ignite. I have had to put a small electric space heater behind it to "prime" it with warmth, in order to get it to fire up and stay operating. (When cold, it fires up for a second or two, then goes into lockout.) Fuel needs to be replenished fairly often, but that's due to a smaller tank than many units. I would recommend this unit, but with the caveat that cold-temperature startup could be a limiting issue. Especially if no alternative heat source is available.

I brought this unit back in december of 2018. For the first month it ran great, then when I went to start it it would run about 10 sec and shut off. fills the garage with smoke. Called master industrial products tech support On phone with them tring to fix the problem. told me to take it to one of there service centers. They Had it for about 3 weeks, got it home same thing, called tech support again, tried to fix over the phone brought it back to ser ctr 3/4 weeks later get it back ran forabout 45 mins same problem, called tech support same thing tried to fix over phone no good, wanted a replacement heater we cannot do that have to bring it back to a service center If they say it cannot be fixed we will replace it. Took it to another service center back in june of 2019 picked it back up 4 weeks later said it was out of adj . so i didnot need it threw the summer. 34 deg today went to use it runs about 10 secs shuts off and smokes same problem as before . Called then again today and wanted a replacement Cannot do that we can talk you thought to fix it of send it to a service THIS UNIT IS ALMOST A YEAR OLD , AND SPENT MOST OF ITS TIME AT SERVICE CENTERS THANKS NORMAN
