Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty handy We bought this wire to go around our bottle calf barn . The first time we turned the calves out at a month old they ran smooth thru the four strands of poly wire . After running thru the fence twice the wire never broke . We decided to flag the fence due to the poly wire not being that visible . After the calves noticed the fence was there and touched it several times they don't mess with the fence . We have had no more problems them running thru it.

I need to stop raccoons from eating the apples off a tree in my garden.  Can this be pegged down on the ground around the tree base and plugged into an outlet? I’ve tried a chicken wire fence around the tree, but they climb over it.

Asked by: Lisa1234
When used as directed, this product can be used for raccoons. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-592-7322 with any questions or for further assistance.

Can this be used to keep large dogs from digging under a fence?

Asked by: Jes76667
As long as there is enough voltage on the wire, it can be used to help contain dogs. We recommend a minimum of 700 -1000 volts on the fence for pets.

Can you recommend a connector to nail onto a board fence to attach poly wire? Can you advise the splicing and tensioning process? Poly wire is intended to keep cows from pushing on a wood board fence.  Recommended?

Asked by: Haydave
We have several options when it comes to insulators that can be used on wood posts to hold poly wire. For further assistance, please feel free to contact us directly. Our Consumer Relations Team can be reached at 1-855-592-7322. We are happy to help!

What type of stakes can be used with this wire? The ground where I would like to use this is very rocky and hard. Stakes need to be pounded into the ground.

Asked by: MtnMama
We recommend using round posts as the insulators needed for this wire will work best on this type of post.

how do you secure this rope to the power wing nuts on the transformer

Asked by: rlswan
Rather than connect this wire to the charger directly, we recommend using a 20 KV insulated lead out wire. The insulated wire can be connected to the poly wire using a galvanized line clamp.
