Q: Is it possible to get nutrition info, specifically grams of carbs per can? My dog is diabetic, and while this food seems to be really great for her tummy issues, good quality food sometimes doesn't have enough carbs to be her only food.

Q: I don't see that taurine has been added to the 4health for Sensitive Stomach canned dog food. I believe that the kibble has it, and I know that it's been added to other 4health canned foods. Why doesn't the 4health Sensitive Stomach formula have it?

  • A: Taurine is an essential nutrient for cats, as such it is added as a supplement to all cat foods. Taurine is also inherent in fish and meat proteins. As it is not considered essential for dogs, supplementation has not occurred in this specific diet.

Q: How does the dry version compare to the canned? I see no info on the dry.

  • A: Unfortunately we would not be able to provide a comparison. We do not supply dry food, therefore we do not know the nutritional information. I would suggest they speak to their Vet and discuss the dry vs. wet food concerns with them for further information.

Using a house brand was a mistake for us

While the product was generally decent quality, the subscription has become a problem and availability at stores anywhere near me is very limited. I normally keep a couple of weeks of food on hand because shipping can sometimes be unpredictable, but after not delivering my order 2 weeks ago, they also cancelled the next order without any notice. I have exhausted my backlog and now my elderly, insulin dependent dog is having to suddenly change to another food from another supplier, which is difficult with her sensitive stomach and need for consistent carb content. I think going with the house brand instead of something more widely available like Science Diet is risky. It's more affordable, but if they don't keep sending it, you're at risk of not having what your pet needs.

Excessive Licking

Both My Bully and Pit mix dogs were licking everything after eating this food. According to Google the ingredient, carrogeenan, can cause this issue.
