There are beliefs, unsubstantiated by scientific evidence, that carrageenan is "bad" for pets. It is referenced as an approved ingredient in the Association of American Feed Control Official Publication and the Code of Federal Regulations, 21 CFR 172.620. It should be kept in mind that there are multiple types of carrageenan (kappa, iota and lambda) used for different purposes. Q: Why am I not allowed to order this product and have it shipped to the store? Crossville has not carried this item for 6 months. It is unacceptable that this website refuses to let me order canned dog food and have it delivered to the store for pick up.

- A: The typical amount of sodium is 0.13% and the typical amount of phosphorus is 0.33%. This product also contains 0.25% salt. These are all listed on an as-is basis. All of the 4Health products contain some amount of salt. Salt is a source of two essential nutrients- sodium and chloride. Eating Again!

We began using 4health grain free canned dog food about a year ago. Our older dog had stopped eating her dog food. We tried different dry foods and canned food and she would look at it and walk away. Once we began using the 4heath grain free canned dog food, she began eating again. Now she is waiting at her bowl at feeding time and immediately eats every morsel and licks the bowl clean. She looks and acts healthy again, her coat looks and feels great and she is no longer scratching at her skin. So thankful for the difference this food has made for our sweet girl, Elsa!

I have been using this brand for the last few years. Over the last 6months-a year the quality has gone down. This last week I bought a case of this and it was like soupy mush, it is pourable. I will be looking for an alternative brand.
