I have a 4 lbs chihuahua who is not getting any younger, this means a very small sensitive mouth, so how big are your kibbles and do you have a small breed grain free formula.

Asked by: DebLS
The target size for this kibble is 7.75 X 6.75mm (+/- 1mm) in a marshmallow shaped. SKU 1102912 is a small breed formulation (4Health Grain Free Small Breed Dog).

Are the food sources in the 4health products from other than the USA?

Asked by: JCGMS
They use some ingredients that are not USA sourced, like flaxseed and barley, both which originate in Canada and lamb and lamb meal from New Zealand and Australia, potato protein from Germany and dried chicory root from Belgium. There are ingredients that are critical to 4Health formulations (i.e. folic acid and taurine) that can only be sourced out of China.

Made in the USA but what is the country of origin of the ingredients? Thank you!

Asked by: Gester
Most of the ingredients contained in 4Health products are grown, harvested, and/or produced in the United States. A few ingredients that are not USA sourced include flaxseed and barley, both which originate in Canada, lamb and lamb meal from New Zealand and Australia, potato protein from Germany, dried chicory root from Belgium and trace amounts of Folic acid which can only be sourced from China. These ingredients are included in the best interest of your pet's nutritional health and development. The manufacturer follows strict guidelines and tests all inbound ingredients to ensure they meet their high standards for quality. Please note that pet foods including Folic acid and/or taurine labeled as “China-Free” are utilizing a loophole in European Union law. European Union laws allow for ingredients purchased outside of Europe, then reprocessed in Europe, to be labeled with European origin."

I do not see taurine listed as an ingredient. Does this food contain taurine?

Asked by: Rudder007
The FDA is investigating a previously unknown but potential link between a condition called DCM, or dilated cardiomyopathy, and dog foods containing peas, lentils, other legumes or potatoes as main ingredients (primarily grain-free). Because taurine deficiency can be associated with DCM, a possible link between diet and the diagnosis is being explored. Taurine has not been recognized as an essential ingredient in dog food. All 4health formulas that are grain-free diets are supplemented with taurine. Our priority is to provide all pets with quality, safe food that meets all federal and state regulatory guidelines.

Are the chickens that are used in this product fed grain free food, no corn at all?

Asked by: Lauren P
Our suppliers feed the chicken with a diet of approximately 50-60% corn, which is the case for all chickens. They do require corn in their diet for nutrient value.
