This Water Source Yard Hydrant Repair Kit is a universal repair kit for yard hydrants. The yard hydrant repair kit includes replacement plungers, O-rings, steel linkage, and set screw. This product meets federal low lead standards.

Water hydrant repair kit

My problem was water gushing out at the sleeve where the rod slides thru the bushing on the hydrant. Placing a new O ring and brass bushing (from the kit) solved the problem.
The kit cleverly has parts for different color hydrants (black, blue, red) and instructions.
However I struggled to get two O rings down (impossible in my case) as instructed. Also I can't figure how to replace the rubber plunger end down at the base, since it is too wide to fit thru the sleeve (bushing removed). Instructions are vague there.
The kit solved my basic problem.

Soooo....the assumption should be the actual hydrant has not only been installed, but has been in use long enough to warrant repairs. Why, then would the repair kit supplier include ONLY the instructions for installing a complete hydrant and NOT include the instructions for conducting the repair to a hydrant that has already been installed??
Haven't installed yet....I just opened the box....also...I tried to add photos here and I met the requirements but the system would not accept the photos.....
