Best I've had for any price .....

I am old school and have heated with the best. Ashley, Fisher, Buck Stove, etc .... back in the 70's and early 80's it was the trend to heat with wood. I am now retired, living off grid in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I live in a 1100 sq ft cabin and this heater is beyond reproach. I installed it according to instructions and didn't try to change anything about the heater. My flue is well above the 2 foot minimum above the ridge line and the draw is perfect. I can load this heater up at night and still have logs and fire in the morning. This heater is just perfect. I could ask for nothing better.

DO NOT BUY

Stove extremely small and is configured for only very small fires. You have to remove smoke flow inhibiting insulation at top of stove to even make a proper fire!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT! Ash pan is just stored under stove ans is useless waste. Have to clean out after EACH use due to small interior.

Good little stuff but don't expect too much.

As stated in the title It is a good little stove. I especially like that it's made in USA. It's good for a small spaces but that's about it. It's also good if you only plan to have a fire every now and then. If you want to burn each day and maintain all day long fires this stove would become very frustrating for you. The firebox is rather small and it will fill up with ash pretty quickly by the second day. It does come with an ash drawer but it's completely useless. There's no access in the belly of the firebox to allow Ash to dump into the ash drawer. I'm a little confused as to why they have the ash drawer and/or advertise it within the ad. The bottom of the firebox is one solid piece of metal. Then they have the fire brick stacked over the top of that. Like I stated before, there is zero access to allow the ash to empty into the ash drawer. I'm not sure if The manufacture is completely unaware of it or they are just using it as a marketing ploy. The only way you're going to clean out the firebox is with an ash shovel and pan (which gets potentially messy) or a good quality ash vacuum intended for wood stoves. It also has a one lever damper to control the air flow but The control is very very limited. First off it's almost impossible to slide the lever (in and out) to begin with because it's full of cast (hundreds of small metal balls each about the size of a chia seed) from the welding process. You have to put a lot of effort into moving it in order to control the air flow to the firebox. Once the fire is going I would recommend wearing an oven mitt to try to move the lever or you could significantly burn yourself on the side of the stove. (If it wasn't clogged with 'cast' this wouldn't be so difficult.) To sum everything up, this stove is good for a small garage, or maybe a cabin somewhere for occasional fires. With the lack of an ash drawer and very unreliable control of the air flow system You will get frustrated quickly if wanting to use this stove on a day-to-day basis.

No, I do not recommend this product.
