Q: How do you remove the old grate?

- A: For this model, you should lift the grate from the back side, slide it back into the firebox so that the shaker handle clears it's retainer, then angle is so that the grate can exit through the firebox door opening.4 years agoHelpful?

Q: Are the dimensions listed correct? I doubt that this grate is 14-1/2" thick. Will it fit a 1500 series US STOVE furnace?

- A: NO, this grate is not 14.5" thick, however dimensions we provide in the setup sheets may have caused an error in this listing based off data collection. This grate is NOT Designed to fit the 1500 Furnace as that uses a Shaker grate system. Please look up our part #'s of 40256 for the frame and 40257 for the grates.9 years agoHelpful?

Wood Stove Grates

The gates work great for about 6 months. Every year we buy a set to get us through. Our wood stove fires are extremely 🔥 hot. So in time, with many many fires they bend in the middle. Our home is mainly heated with the wood stove.

Same piece of garbage that doesn't last, only now even more expensive. Found the same item on other sites later for under half the price you're charging.

Would not recommend this grate. Empty ash pan daily and grate has been replaced 3 times in 5 years. At 150.00 a pop who can afford them. So disappointed.
