a year ago- A: Hi! Thanks for the question. We recommend 60 grams per day (approximately 30 functional wafers) per day for a 1,000-pound horse. The Functional Wafers include rice bran, peas and flavoring, the sugar and starch levels range 4.3 – 5.6 (Sugar) ESC and 17.8 – 20.2% Starch. Due to the low feeding rate, the carbohydrate value of the Functional Wafers does not significantly impact the carbohydrate percentage of the diet. For example, a 1,000-pound horse getting 19 pounds per day of a 10% NSC Hay and 1 serving (60 g) of the GUT Functional wafers each day would have a dietary NSC of just 10.09%.a year agoHelpful?
