Finches love this feeder

Like all finch feeders, a lot of nyjer/finch seed falls out if you just pour it in. I fill mine in a bucket, and then put the seed that falls out back in. Some people use a cardboard type sleeve that they can put around the barrel of the feeder just while filling feeder to reduce seed waste. Finches love this feeder! I have pine siskens and goldfinches all over these, all the time.

Area finches never used it.

Feeder itself is poor. Flimsy design. Cap doesn't sit well and loosens up. I filled with nyjer seed and put it out figuring the finches would go for it but...they didn't. Not sure why. Left it out for awhile, too, even tried changing location. Nothing. Squirrels were the only ones that bothered with it. The cap is a very weak point and it fell off it's sturdy wrought iron hanger spilling the contents to the ground and it bent the mesh in several places. I didn't return to store because it was just past the 30 day mark. Very disappointing and cannot recommend. Wasted $$.

Didn't work correctly

For some reason this feeder would somehow get clogged, and the holes were too small so the birds could not get the seeds through the mesh. Maybe it was the seed I was using? Also all the feed would settle in the bottom, as noticed by another reviewer, and then it would become clogged and no seed wall dispense into the tray. Gave up and threw it out, looking for a tube option now.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Attracted so many birds!! Easy to fill. Holds seed in but easy for birds to get to. No squirrels bother it. Highly recommend. Buying another one :)

do NOT buy!

The finches will love it while it lasts, but the top spherical part is simply welded and will break easily either due to rusting or a simple twist. Once it breaks, there is no easy way to fix it unless you drill a hole yourself in the top flange and then put a nut/bolt, S hook, etc.
Until this fatal flaw is fixed, do not buy.
