ShelterLogic 4 Easy Hook with Ratchet Anchor Kit, 38.2 in.

Was installing thiese anchors to secure my Shelter Logic 12x20 Shelter Coat Shed. Intial installation looked quite straight forward. What I thought would be fairly easy was not quite so at first until I tried a not so obvious install technique. My shed is on a gravel pad. I removed the rubber caps on the driving rod. There was no mention to do or not do this in the instructions, For the 2nd anchor the rod was impossible to remove after the anchor was seated all the way. Ended up pulling it all the way back out and using a hammer to seperate rod from anchor, After that, berfore inserting the driving rod into the anchor I added some very small stone pieces int the anchor first to prevent the rod from apparently seizing at the bottom of the anchor while driving it into the ground. This amall step solved my issue and I could easily pull the driving rod by hand after the anchor was seated. I installed 7 anchors in less time than it took me to try and install that one . Overall I think this is a great product and recommend it. Maybe another idea would be to slightly round the end of the driving rod to prevent it from seizing up. I did not try this but just an idea.

Works well. Only comment is that the end of the driving rod should be rounded to make it easier to remove from the anchor after it is driven into the ground. Ground material around the rod binds it making it very difficult to remove.

I had no trouble with them except for using the wrong hammer to drive them into the ground. I recommend a large sledge hammer.
