Rated 5 out of 5 by from Read before installing!! Read everything before installing. These anchors were really quite simple to install if you do it the way I did. I took a piece of one inch piece of conduit about five feet long and cut one end off at about a 30 degree angle. I then drove this angled end into the ground at a 30 degree angle to a predetermined depth leaving enough cable out of ground to connect to my greenhouse framing. Tap out the material inside of conduit before your next hole. ( Note) Once driven into the ground give the cable a good pull which will give you roughly 2 to 4 inches of extra cable on the end exposed. Do your first cable and add this extra, whatever you gain, for your total to be left exposed. Now for the important part. If you have read the reviews you will remember people saying the drive rod got stuck in the ground. Two things will lead to this. #1 First be sure to remove the rubber cap on both ends of the rod. #2 Before driving the first anchor paint, or mark the end of the rod you will be driving, "hitting" , with the hammer. Make sure you drive from the same end every time afterwards. The reason for this is because after driving the first anchor the end of the drive rod will begin to mushroom enlarging the end you are driving. Should you put this end, the end you first struck with the hammer, into the anchor and drive from the other end you will never get the rod out of the anchor. I know because I did it on the second anchor I installed. I was able to remove the anchor and drive rod by pulling both at the same time. Realizing what caused this to happen I painted the drive end and installed 16 anchors without further problems. The manufacturer should make this known in their instructions as it would save the bad reviews they get from rods being stuck in the ground. Good Luck!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Difficult hook As typical with shelterlogic products having clear instruction isn’t a focus . It took me about 2 minutes putting the anchor in the ground that wasn’t bad but it is impossible to remove the rod after 60 minutes trying different approach the rod is still stocked in the anchor . The problem I believe is they put 2 useless plastic cap on the driving rod and I think now that I should have removed it because that is what prevent the rod to be removed . I am clueless of what I can do besides digging up the anchor .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good! Execllent! But easier if you drill a 12" to 18" 3/4 to 1" hole first. Use a heavy hammer or axe hammer as I did to pound it in. Heavy guage cable and very secure. I used it to anchor my shed base so not to worry in strong winds. Highly reccomended.

Best method to anchor car canopy to asphalt drive?

Asked by: keller
Hello, When anchoring to asphalt, the best method is to drill a hole and then proceed to drive in your Easy Hook anchor and have the hole filled. If you have any additional questions or concerns please feel free to call us at 1-800-932-9344. Thank you
