- A: Glad to help out, Wilt. We do not recommend leaving any primers, including Rust-Oleum Specialty Farm & Implement Primer exposed without a top coat. Primers are very porous and if not top coated can eventually lead to peeling, chipping, or chalking. We need to know more about your application to make the best recommendation for you. Please feel free to call us at 800-899-1729 to discuss further. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 57 years agoHelpful?

- A: Happy to help, Rust-Oleum Specialty Farm and Implement Enamels are suitable for metal surfaces that are not galvanized and do not reach temperatures above 212 degrees. If the surface reaches temperatures above 200 degrees and stays below 1200 degrees, check out Rust-Oleum Specialty High Heat Spray! Please note, to fully cure this paint the surface does need to be heated to above 200 degrees. http://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/rust-oleum-specialty-aerosol-high-heat-bar-b-que-black-12-oz?cm_vc=-100059 years agoHelpful?
