Q: does this paint need primer first ?

1 Answer
  • Rust-OleumSupport
A: Jerry, this is a great question! Rust-Oleum Specialty Farm and Implement Paint does not require a primer over previously coated surfaces. However, if it is over a bare or steel surface, we recommend using Rust-Oleum Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Water-Based Primer for the best adhesion results. http://tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/rust-oleum-zinsser-bulls-eye-123-white-1-gal-2001 - Rust-Oleum Product Support 10

Q: Can this paint be used in an electric paint spray gun?

1 Answer
  • Rust-OleumSupport
A: Great question, Tim. Rust-Oleum Specialty Farm and Implement Paint can be applied using either an air-atomized sprayer or airless sprayer. If you use an air-atomized sprayer we recommend thinning the paint up to 15% by volume using mineral spirits. Thinning for an airless sprayer is not typically required but if needed the product can be thinned up to 5% also using mineral spirits. -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14

Q: Can I use this on the chassis of my ram pickup?

1 Answer
  • Rust-OleumSupport
A: Dale, great question! Yes, Rust-Oleum Specialty Farm and Implement Paint can be applied to the chassis of your truck. Proper preparation is key for a lasting coat, you will want to remove any loose or peeling paint from the surface. Wash the surface with soap and water to help remove any dirt, grease, or debris from the surface. Once dried and clean you can proceed to apply your coats. It is recommended to apply 2-3 light coats 24 hours apart. The paint will withstand temperatures up to 200°F, exposure to temperatures higher than this will cause paint to blister and peel. Please keep in mind that overtime if the surface is rubbed this will wear the coating faster and reapplication may be required more often. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 10
