Rugged Ranch Walk-In Pen is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 70.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Be warned Although strong it has its flaws The spaces within the cage frame work are big enough that the hens can stick their heads out and then some. Racoons can easily reach in grab a chicken by the head. The top and sides have a gap that would allow wessels, skunks , rats to get in. I had to place hardware wire all around. It's not cheap so I expected much more. It also has no lock on the door which at that price should have been included.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Structurally sound, smaller than expected Structurally, this is a fantastic unit. The reason for the less than 5 rating was because it is smaller than we expected it to be. We purchased the expansion kit to go with it and we were expecting it to be much larger than it actually is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Choice! The kennel is just what we wanted...protected space for our small dogs to go potty with no one home. We chose this one because it has a metal roof as well. It was not that difficult to put together so I was really pleased with that!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rugged Ranch Walk-In Pen I purchased two of these structures and Im pleased with them overall: Easy assembly, but would recommend 2 people and construction on a level surface. Product came with some scuffs in the black finish and those areas have since rusted. Door can be challenging to get locked in place if not on a perfectly level area...also door only swings inward. I also bought the canvas roof covers primarily for the winter/spring months. They fit nicely and it’s a nice addition. However, they leak at the seams. Overall, I’m satisfied with the product. They’re a bit expensive in my opinion.

How large are the holes in the fencing, is it narrowed enough to keep racoons and opossum from reaching in? I just bought the Over EZ large size coop, will these work together?

Asked by: BettyV
The squares are graduated. The first 12" is 1" x 2" then it goes to 2" x 2" squares. Yes it will work with the Over EZ coops but you will need to buy the adapter kit from Over EZ.

Where is the knock out panel? My coop door sits approximately 4 foot off the ground and I want to put this rt up to the door if that's possible.

Asked by: Mmskope
The knock out panel is in the back right side as you're looking at the pen from the front. It is roughly 30" high opening x 38" wide.

Will it rust outside and is the powdercoat bird safe, i.e. cockatoo, parrot??

Asked by: Lorz
The powdercoat is safe for birds, we've sold many of our walk in pens for cockatoos and other birds. As for rusting, it's going to depend on the climate of your location but the powder coating should be good for several years

If I get the extension pen, how do you connect the two pens together?

Asked by: LisaLKS
There are instructions in the extension kit, but basically, you take the walk in pen and split it in half, then put the extension kit in the middle and connect them together with the clamps provided. That's it. The key thing is the spit the original walk in apart and put the extension kit in the middle, otherwise the roofs won't line up.
