The New Age Pet ecoFLEX New Age Pet Jumbo Fontana Chicken Pen is made with ECOFLEX material that's non-toxic, eco-friendly and impervious to moisture and odor. The durable chicken coop has one door with a predator-resistant lock and is constructed using NeveRust stainless-steel wire mesh so there's no need to worry about rust. This chicken coop can also be used alone or with our New Age Pet Jumbo Fontana Barn. It features easy assembly with no tools required for convenience. Q: when putting this together, if predators are not an issue, can you just leave the roof un-attached so that you can lift it up like a lid to reach in?

Q: Why does this say Jumbo and that it is for 10-12 chickens yet the dimensions are the same as the Fontana? It seems way too small for that many chicks

Q: Is the top a lid?

- A: No, it is quite heavy and would present a strangulation danger around small children. Instead, the roof panels easily slide out so you can gain complete access to the inside. Since the ECOFLEX composite used in this item doesn't absorb any moisture or oils, cleaning it is not much more than rinsing it out. I light detergent like Dawn dishwashing soap is a good and more than adequate cleaner if you feel that is necessary.7 years agoHelpful?
Q: I want to be enlist the help of my chickens in the garden, compost heap and fields on our small farm. Predators & dogs pose a threat .Thinking I can put them into a couple of these a few hours a day over the areas I want worked. Thoughts on that?

- A: That should work. The only way a predator could get in would be to lift it off the ground, not a simple thing to do, That potential situation could be avoided by drilling 2 holes in each side of the lower frame and using a large nail/spike to anchor the pen. Another way would be to add weight to the frame on top. Add weight only to the frame. 2 bricks on each side would likely be enough.7 years agoHelpful?
Q: Will the jumbo pen fit on the regular sized ecoFlex Fontana coop?

- A: No, there is a pen sized to the regular Fontana available as well. Our item number is ECHK103-P. The jumbo pen is much wider and longer. As such, it can't be attached to the barn itself using the parts and screws we provide.8 years agoHelpful?

Sturdy, lightweight.

Great pen. Easy to assemble. Plenty of room for my 6 Golden Comets. I use it as a "move around pen". Light weight,but sturdy. Do wish the door was on the end instead of side. But definitely reccomend this pen.

Easily Breaks, Needs Top Opening

I was just desperate for a chicken pen that could be movable while waiting for a bigger one to be built and specifically looked for one that could fit my over 10 chickens. Not sure how the plastic broke on one side as we always tried to have two people lift and set down when moving it. Also learned that it's hard to get chickens out at the end of the day because the only way to reach them is through the small opening (i.e. have 9 year old child climb inside and hand me chickens).
