It catches wasps, carpenter bees and a few mud daubers as claimed. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that it will not last an entire season in Tennessee. One has lasted almost 2 months. I expect to replace twice to get through the warm weather here.

The Bird Guard Needs To Be Designed

Stop buying this product until RESCUE gets serious about redesigning the Bird Guard to prevent small birds such as Wrens from getting stuck to the product. I'm currently looking for a 1/2" square fabric made of plastic to cover over the existing Bird Protector.

I bought this primarily to attract carpenter bees as they are very active on our deck. After 3 days there was exactly ONE carpenter bee on the trap. Moved it to the front porch and it was slightly better with yellow jackets but definitely not great. Would not recommend.

I was a little skeptical as to whether these would work for carpenter bees but bought a couple just to see. They really do work. After just one evening I had 10 carpenter bees and numerous wasp on one trap. Proper placement seems to be the key. I will be buying more.
