The Red Lake Earth Diatomaceous Earth with Calcium Bentonite is OMRI-listed for use in organic production and is for use in feeds as an anticaking agent or pelleting aid for further manufacturing in feed. Red Lake Earth is environmentally friendly, completely safe, and does not contain any antibiotics or harmful chemicals. The Diatomaceous Earth you know and trust! I use this diatomaceous earth (DE) blend to kill hatching fly larvae in garbage cans, to prevent ant and mite infestation in the chicken coop, and to dust my chickens in the case of a mite outbreak. (I do also sprinkle and then mix a little in the sand of their run for self dusting). Unlike 100% diatomaceous earth products, this one also has calcium bentonite, which is a great feed additive for deactivating any traces of mold or mycotoxins, and is harmless to digestion in minute amounts. It is also slightly heavier than pure DE, which reduces the amount of airborne dust in the chicken pen. Beware, though: I used too much in the dust bath years ago, and it killed a chick by way of respiratory damage.
