Greenest lawn on block and multiple roses

I live in an area that is VERY high in alkali. I love my yard and even thought I am only a renter I want the best looking yard. When I originally moved in everything was dead, the house had been a foreclosure so it was start from scratch. I aerated and thatched the lawn and put on gypsum and lime. The grass was a cheap brand of rolls put down when the owner bought the house. It helped but the grass was such a poor quality that it greened but looked like what it was -cheap grass, It's been 2 years since I moved in but after thatching 3 times, aerating 5 times, seeding with bluegrass I have a lush lawn. Each time I aerated, thatched, or seeded I did the aeration. My soil is beautiful and now I'm forced to use rabbit repellant because the rabbits choose my lawn. I also use the gypsum and lime when I plant or rototill and my soil is perfect for planting. Wherever I haven't done these things it's just hardpan and to get down 2 feet takes digging and watering up to four days.

Needs to be dry, It was kept outside

Lime was wet and like concrete. It was stored outside and i ended up having to break it up and mix it with horse manure and spread it with a manure spreader. It completely plugged my broadcast spreader. Should have returned it but oh well...Next time i will use DRY pelletized lime.

This is not Dolomitic Limestone

Buyer beware, this is not Dolomitic Limestone. A safe way to identify dolomite is the label. Dolomite is characterized by calcium & magnesium carbonates at a ratio of 1.2 to 1. For example: Calcium (Ca) . . . . . . . . . 21% -- 21% water soluble calcium Magnesium (Mg) . . . . . . . . 13% Calcium carbonate (CaCo3) . . . 54% Magnesium carbonate (MgCo3) . . 45% As you see: the carbonates (54% and 45%) have a ratio 1.2 to 1. The elemental Ca & Mg (released as the carbonates break down in acid) are 1.62 to 1. As for the in store product, the ratio of the plant available nutrients is Ca - 30% to Mg 3% (10:1). I’ll make an update to this post if I find something in store that has the dolomitic ratio (higher in Mg).

No, I do not recommend this product.
