User-Friendly, Versatile Operation: The WB-37 is a versatile and durable sander. It handles stock up to 6 in. thick and as short as 12 in. And to save you time, the control systems make using that range fast and easy. Three-Motor System The sander uses three individual motors to maximize consistency and performance. The 20-horsepower motor drives the sanding-belt drive drums; a one-horsepower variable-speed motor powers the feed belt; and a quarter-horsepower motor powers the system that moves the table up and down to vary thickness.
Sophisticated Centralized Controls: All of the WB-37's frequently used controls are grouped together on a centralized panel, which allows you to easily access them--or to shut the sander down--without having to move around it. At the same time, the digital readout eliminates mistakes by displaying the exact thickness that has been entered. And for more accuracy, the variable-speed feed belt allows you to dial in the exact feed speed to best suit your project.
Thickness Controls: The sander is equipped with sophisticated "thicknesser" controls for fast, simple, and virtually error-free operation. This feature works by capturing the piece of wood to give you the exact starting thickness. A digital readout shows the exact thickness of the finished piece, or will allow you to preset the thickness you prefer.
Safe Operation: For safety, the WB-37 has a powerful disc brake that slows the machine quickly when it is off. In the event of an emergency, it also stops it instantly when the exterior safety bar is depressed.
Air-Eye System: An air-eye system controls the oscillation of the 37- x 75in. (W x L) sanding belt. Because this system will not become contaminated with dust like a light-based eye could, it's always precise, and keeps the belt oscillating uniformly to optimize use of the available sanding area. It also prevents lines from being left on the workpiece.
Belt System: The WB-37 comes with 100- and 180-grit belts. For ease of operation, belt tension is automatic and applied with air pressure, and descriptive graphics at the controls simplify all procedures. Also, belt changing is fast and tool-free, and the feed conveyor belt is specially designed to provide consistent material movement for ultra-smooth sanded surfaces.
Dust Collection:Built with the industrial environment in mind, the WB-37 has three, five-inch-diameter dust ports on the top that make connecting it to your dust system effortless. (A dust collection system with a minimum 1,600 CFM is required.) The exterior ports are connected to internal baffles that focus the collection power to keep the interior of the sander as clean as possible, which prolongs the life of the abrasive and keeps the machine running smoothly.
Power in a Compact Package: Measuring 57.5 x 84.6 x 52.4 in. (W x H x D) and weighing 2,090 lb., the WB-37 provides industrial capabilities in a compact machine that will fit comfortably in your shop.
