Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did not use- NOT FOR KITTENS! I am fostering 5 kittens and a series of information led me to believe that this dewormer would be safe to also use on cats. For reference, the Kitten Lady had a link to an amazon seller selling this, yet in another dewormer video she talks about getting prescription dewormer from your vet?! I had to order online and wait over a week to get it. I am very scared to deworm the kittens with over the counter medicines because I read of certain brands killing cats. Using this dewormer on a kitten would be like a speck of dosage and that doesn't sit right with me. I am sure this is good for what it is actually suited for, a dog, which is why I gave 5 stars. But I will be returning and NOT be using as a kitten dewormer. I will pay the high vet costs to make sure the kittens are dewormed correctly. Some things aren't worth the risk with DIY.

can we treat for other worms at the same time (whip etc...)

Asked by: shs1962
This product is intended as a single treatment for the removal of large roundworms (Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonina) and hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum and Uncinaria stenocephala) in dogs and puppies. The presence of these and other parasites should be confirmed by laboratory fecal exam. For advice on treatment of other parasites/medical conditions, the manufacturer would recommend consultation with the attending veterinarian for guidance on which medication would be appropriate for the indication as well as which treatments could be considered contraindicated.

should I give this to the litter mother and pups while they are still lactating?

Asked by: bassetts
Administer 1 teaspoon (5 mL) for each 10 lb of body weight. It is not necessary to withhold food prior to or after treatment. Dogs usually find this dewormer very palatable and will lick the dose from the bowl willingly. If there is reluctance to accept the dose, mix in a small quantity of dog food to encourage consumption. It is recommended that dogs maintained under conditions of constant exposure to worm infestation should have a follow-up fecal exam within 2-4 weeks after treatment. For maximum control and prevention of reinfestation, it is recommended that puppies be treated at 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 10 weeks of age. Lactating dogs should be treated 2-3 weeks after whelping. Adult dogs kept in heavily contaminated quarters may be treated at monthly intervals to prevent T. canis reinfestation.
